All cars that are heavily modified out of our stock classes and the modification listing, regardless of their engine displacement and the DOT tire compound that the car is on. Non DOT tires are not allowed in this class. This applies to classes A through H. This class includes Class A vehicles that are bumped one class and B vehicles that are bumped two classes.Examples: Most lightly modified A cars (Corvette Z06 with coil-overs), moderately modified B cars (Subaru STI with chip and coil-overs), ALL turbo kits that are not factory installed, ALL engine swaps (RX-7 with small-block V8) and highly boosted factory turbo cars with moderate modifications (VW GTI 1.8T with chip and fuel injectors).
PROPER
CLASSIFICATION IS THERESPONSIBILITY OF THE ENTRANT
Competitors should class their vehicles according to the preceding list and
the following modification penalty system. The Tech Steward will be responsible
for verifying each vehicle’s class at the time of tech inspection. The Tech
Steward will also be responsible for initially classing vehicles and modifications
not listed herein. Any interpretation of the Tech Steward may be appealed
to the MotorSports Northeast Rules Committee by informing the Steward or any
other Official. The Steward’s determination will stand unless the MotorSports
North East Rules Committee determines otherwise prior to the next scheduled
event.
MODIFICATIONS
Cars with MODIFICATIONS will be subject to being re-classed. A modification
means removal, replacement, or enhancement of the indicated part with a part
or enhancement that is not available as a factory-installed option for that
year, make, model and trim level of vehicle. Engine swaps will be re-classed
by the Tech Stewards
Light Modifications: (See Modification Worksheet for details)
Three or more of these modifications will move the vehicle up one class
Performance shocks (adjustable)
Springs
Camber plates
Sway bars
Rims that are one inch or more wider than stock or that extend one inch or
more beyond stock fender
Regular

Any of the following modifications move you up a class. Additionally, three
of these modifications move you up two classes. Several of these modifications
move you to “Unlimited Class”:
Transmission or gear ratio change including tires/wheels with an overall diameter
that deviates from factory options by 1 inch or more
Any/All Exhaust System Modification from Exhaust Manifold to Catalytic Converter
(from Cat back is free)
Any/All Air Intake modifications from throttle body to intake valve (From
throttle body away from engine is free)
Differential upgrade (Limited Slip)
Adjustable coil-over suspension or relocation of suspension
Brake caliper and Rotor diameter/width change (i.e., big brake kits that increase
the diameter of the rotor by more than one inch.)
Having all five “light modifications”
Heavy
Modifications:
Each of the following modifications counts as four regular modifications.
The first modification raises the vehicle two classes, with the second raising
the vehicle to “Unlimited Class”
Any/All internal
Engine Modification incl. Boring, Stroking, Changing Compression, Water Injection;
Internal Engine Parts such as valves, pistons, rods, crank shaft, etc. Fuel
components in forced induction vehicles including injectors, pumps, and pressure
risers.
Any/All Boost controllers, Performance chips, Re-programmed/Replacement/Piggyback
ECU, Intercooler, Blow-off Valves, on Forced Induction Vehicle (Performance
Chip on a Naturally Aspirated vehicle is free)
Non-factory installed Turbo or Supercharger
Nitrous oxide kits
Race
Modifications
These modifications immediately move you to “Race Classes” M or N
Non DOT
approved tires
Gutted interior forward of the drivers seat back or replacement or removal
of auto glass except sunroof. Exposed cut metal anywhere inside vehicle. Drivers
are allowed to remove bolted, glued or clipped pieces aft of the driver’s
seat without penalty
NOTE: If a vehicle arrives with jagged open metal edges inside it will not
be allowed to compete

Free
Modifications
The following modifications may be installed without incurring penalties
Engine
Modifications before the throttle body and after catalytic converter are allowed,
including but not limited to: the air filter; cold air system; air boxes;
air intake hose or pipe forward of the throttle body; cat-back exhausts (although
vehicle must be muffled and meet sound level standards). Changes to engine
ancillary equipment, including but limited to: under-drive/lightweight pulleys;
timing pulleys; Removal/addition of AC, cruise control, fuel components in
naturally aspirated vehicles; engine mounts; radiators; oil/trans coolers;
dry sumps; fuel additives; oil additives; ignition systems and wiring; spark
plugs; Chip or ECU upgrades in naturally aspirated vehicles; Silicone or other
hoses; “Dress up” kits, and other cosmetic changes, including the painting/coating
of any surface.
Suspension
Any part which is available from the factory, as a factory non-racing/MotorSports
division option, on the samemodel/generation/trimline car may be installed.
Aftermarket Non-adjustable shocks/struts; bushings; Strut braces; chassis
stiffeners; any DOT-approved tire; any wheel material; any wheel size less
within 1” of the rolling height, and/or within 1” width of what is available
from the factory as anon-racing/MotorSports division option on the same body.
(e.g., factory option wheels/tires ranged from 16x7 to 17x8, with a 25” diameter
on your car. You could do a 17x8.75 or 16x8.75 without penalty, as long as
the total diameter is within 1” of factory. In this case, a total diameter
approaching 24” may be scrutinized/penalized by the Tech Stewards.)
Exterior
Lightweight body parts which follow the form, function and mounting of a factory
steel part (e.g., a one piece GT style fiberglass front end would not be free,
whereas a fiberglass hood would be)
Addition/removal of sunroof, tails, spoilers, fins, hood scoops.
Any cosmetic changes etc, as long as they do not pose a risk to either the
driver or other participants
Removal/addition emblems, trim, badges, mud guards, antennae, additional lights
Interior
Any change aft of the back of the driver’s seat, which does not involve cutting
of metal or any structure components of the vehicle.
Including, but limited to: Ungluing, unbolting, and unclipping of any component
aft of the line of the back of the drivers seat, which does not expose a raw
metal edge that could endanger driver or instructor alike
Removal of interior carpet and trim aft of the back of driver’s seat:
Floor mats
Gauges
Lights
Roll cages/bars
Strut braces
Harness bars
Seat belts/harnesses
Racing seats
Pedals
Shift knobs
Steering wheels

Driver is free to wear any type material, including but not limited to: Clothing,
shoes, pants, shirts, gloves, socks, etc. of any material, color, texture,
etc.
Sandals, and high-heels do not meet the safety requirements, and purple pants
may be scrutinized/penalized by the Tech Stewards.
